If there is one thing I could do for the rest of my life it would be this. It would be all that is KODA/CODA.

Stemming from KODA Camp in Old Forge, NY my devotion runs deep. It would be of little use to explain something so misunderstood by those who do not have deaf parents, and it would be rather un-human for me to be able to publicly share something so sacred and dear to my heart.

Six Taste

Six Taste is a food tour company built on the idea that the things we eat are more than just sustenance. This exploration of food aims to make the act of tasting just as captivating as beautiful landscapes are to the eye. In a sense, taste buds are simply another way to experience the world. In addition, Six Taste recognizes cuisine as historically and culturally significant, which can portray dishes as evolutionary links in a chronology of things past. Guests may embark on a walking tour of ethnic neighborhoods, try their hand at sculpting sushi rolls, or learn the way of tea.

Since its first tour four months ago in July, Six Taste has served over 300 guests.

Zeta Phi Rho

Zeta Phi Rho Fraternity at University of Southern California, Gamma Chapter, is a brotherhood which is built on excellence. This principle applied on the individual level provides each brother with greater personal drive and understanding of purpose, while on the organization level creates synergy of the greatest strengths each has to bring to the table. The most notable demonstration of this is Zeta Phi Skid Rho, an annual philanthropy event held every November to raise awareness concerning homeless in Los Angeles, California. This event has thousands funded through multiple sources and in partnership with several missions, contributes over 4,000 lunches to inhabitants of Skid Rho made by hundreds of recruited volunteers from dozens of campus organizations.

The fraternity quote “For without struggle there is no progress.” encapsulates the hard lessons learned during the associate process, a microcosm of that which is life itself. These hard-earned experiences extend throughout active life and lend to each brother’s perspective and wisdom as well as deep love of brotherly bonds.

Zeta Band

Zeta band was born out of our love of music and jam sessions at the Greenhouse. Built on the talented Casey Callangan’s musical genius, the rag-tag band of brothers and Zeta sisters grew into a amateur performance outfit.

Performing for multiple events and venues, the Zeta Band played on stage for The Mabuhay Festival as well as private events such as debuts and smaller shows. However the best times were playing in the Greenhouse backyard for fraternity events and jamming out at Pauline’s house.

Unfortunately with the passing of the Greenhouse and the changing of life, the Zeta Band dis-banded. Although, those better skilled (not me) are now part of a real band.

Goodbye Greenhouse

The Greenhouse is a central landmark in the history of Zeta Phi Rho at Gamma Chapter. So much so that it deserves its own page. The sheer amount of experiences and memories associated with the Greenhouse make it dear to many of the hearts of brothers and Zeta sisters alike. From an organizational standpoint the Greenhouse was instrumental in providing a core meeting ground and area to conduct many of the fraternity activities.

In moving out of the Greenhouse, Zeta Phi Rho will forever be changed however always for the best. A slide show of photos involving the Greenhouse spotlight only a small portion of the many unforgettable memories, while the submitted stories keep rolling in.
